President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has been heavily approbated by clubs in the Zone 1 of the Division League for his timely review tour.

The Ghana FA boss started a review tour of the zone from Monday to Thursday in a bid to review the first round of the Division One League and to also engage some Premier League clubs from that zone.

Top of the agenda was to find out challenges of the clubs in the first round of the league, take suggestions from them and to engage them on the rules of the game.

Also, the clubs were engaged in the causes of hooliganism and how it can be dealt with.

With a ten-man contingent on the trip, the team patiently engaged the clubs and addressed their challenges in the first round of the league with specific reference on refereeing and how to prevent acts of hooliganism at game centers.

Following his engagement with the clubs, the Ghana FA President has been hugely lauded for his unprecedented tour and the impact it will have on the second round of the league.

Speaking to footballmadeinghana.com after the tour on Thursday, CEO of B.A. United, Major Kwame Baah could not hide his admiration for the effort of the President, spaying him with praises for the tour.

“The president’s visit is an important milestone for football. Having the sitting President of the GFA coming to our zone to share ideas of his vision for the game is amazing,” he said.

“I have never seen a sitting GFA President ever undertaking such steps to improve the game and this visit is unique. Key stakeholders of the game had the chance to exchange ideas with a sitting GFA President to help shape the future of the game in the near future.

“We are delighted to host the GFA President for the first time in the history of Ghana football in Sunyani and we are confident the visit will further accelerate the development of the game in Zone 1,” he added.

For Nkoranza Warriors, having the face-to-face opportunity to deliberate on issues with the GFA President is enough motivation for them to help the fight against hooliganism and to help the development of the game.

“That was a timely meeting,” said the CEO of Nkoranza Warriors Hope Amaglo.

“Some of us have waiting for such opportunities to share our grievance with the football governing body and to have that chance is really significant.

“The most important side that I like about the visit is the way the President took his time to educate us on rules of the game. It’s something that I have been preaching to the supporters here in NKORANZA

“And lastly the borehole he promised to do for us and reiterating his promise comes to us as great news.

“God bless him for everything he’s doing for Ghana football and may he live long to continue the transformational agenda of Ghana football,” he added.

For the CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, Alfons, the President’s tour is unprecedented and he’s hopeful that it will have a massive impact on football in the zone.

“We are happy he paid a working visit to our region. First of its kind. Since I joined the football business, he is the first President to visit clubs and to listen to our concerns and promised to address them,” he said.

“This is what we expect from our leaders. He has shown that he is not an office president but a working president,” he added.

The GFA President within the 4 days interacted with all the 16 clubs in the zone and also the 3 Brong Ahafo clubs in the Ghana Premier League.

The visit, the first for any sitting president of the Ghana FA is expected to impact positively on the acts of hooliganism usually erupting in the zone as the second round of the DOL is set to start this weekend.
