King Faisal will welcome WAFA at the newly renovated Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in matchday one of the Ghana Premier League.

The Insha Allah boys after battling relegation in the 2020/2021 season will be looking to make a statement this time around.

Despite losing Kwame Peprah and Frimpong Boateng, King Faisal have made some decent signings going to the season.

Ibrahim Osman and Emmanuel Sarkodie have joined them on-loan from Asante Kotoko.

They have also been able to capture the signatures of Ortis Sam, Evans Sarfo, Samuel Kwarteng and Frank Boateng.

Coach Nurudeen Ahmed was able to maintained the core of his team from last season.

The likes of Zubairu Ibrahim, Wadudu Yakubu, Pius Baffour, Richard Akrofi and Samuel Kusi are still part of the team.

WAFA on the other hand have made five addition to the team that finished third in the League.

Spanish trainer Guillermo Zaragoza replaces Prosper Narteh at the helm after the latter left for Kotoko.

The Sogakope based side have also promoted five players from their youth team ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

WAFA improved on their away form last season chalking some impressive results on the road.

They will be determined to continue from where they left off in the coming season.

Head to Head

King Faisal are winless in their last four games against WAFA.

The host have won only one of their five meetings against WAFA.

WAFA have won one drawn three and lost only one of their five games against King Faisal
