Michael Akoto grabs his chance with Dresden
Michael Akoto came to Dresden from the U23 of FSV Mainz, the 2nd Bundesliga is completely new territory for him. But after three games (including the cup) it remains to be said: The defensive man uses his chance ice cold.
“Two years ago my heart would have slipped in my pants with excitement,” admits the German-Ghanaian.
At Dynamo there is no sign of awe. At HSV, he made his debut as a left-back in the second half, in the cup against Paderborn and most recently against Hanover, he was allowed to play in the back right from the start.
Akoto was able to convince in all three games and even prepared the 1-0 against 96 with a great cross. Where does this serenity come from?
“I’ve made another leap in my personality development,” explains the professional. “And I thought: Why should you be nervous now. This is the chance you really wanted to have. So go out there and show what you can do. “
