‘My time will come’- Isaac Twum not thinking about Black Stars call up amid AFCON 2021

Former Black Stars captain Isaac Twum says he is not thinking about national team call up at the moment as he believes there are better midfielders who can do the job for the Black Stars.

The 23-year-old currently plies his trade for Norwegian club Mjøndalen and has made 26 appearances in the ongoing campaign.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Aben FM, Twum, who led the Black Stars B to annex the WAFU B tournament in 2017 says he is not thinking about Black Stars call up amid 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 2021 AFCON has been slated for January next year in Cameroon as players eyes call up for the tournament but the former Inter-Allies skipper thinks otherwise.

“I’m not thinking about national team call up because there are players playing in better leagues that me despite the appearance made.

“The likes of Thomas Partey, Iddrisu Baba, Wakaso and others are ahead of me. I believe my time will come because as at now, there are players who are ahead of me considering my position”

“It is about generation, Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and others came, now, there is another generation playing for the national team so I believe my time will come”

“At the right time, I will come and play for the national team” he said.
