Rejeka can deal with PAOK – Issah Abass talks tough ahead of Europa Conference League play-off
Ghanaian forward Abass Issah is upbeat about Rijeka’s chances against Greek giants PAOK in the in the European Conference League play-offs.
Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat over the weekend in the Croatian league against Osijek, the former Mainz 05 striker believes they can deal with their opponents on Thursday night.
Issah Abass has been outstanding since joining the club scoring against Hibernian to set up the tie against PAOK.
“We lost in Osijek, I believe that it woke us up a bit and that we will play a good game against PAOK again. We will analyze them and prepare well, correct mistakes from Osijek and play a good game,” he said.
“Honestly, I believe that we can deal with PAOK and that we have something to show in the “play-off”,” he added.
“It doesn’t matter to me that I score a goal, the most important result for me is that the fans go home with a smile on their face after the game, because that means we did the right thing. For me, that is the only important thing, it doesn’t matter at all who will score goals, the most important thing is that the team wins.”
