World Cup play-off: We are giving it all on Tuesday – Ghana winger Fatawu Issahaku ahead of Nigeria tie in Abuja
Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku says he and his teammates will give it all in the return fixture against Nigeria in the World Cup play-off.
The Black Stars who were slightly better than the Super Eagles played a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday evening.
Ghana dominated possession, recorded the most shots and kept Super Eagles’ star-studded attack at bay in front of a large crowd in Kumasi.
Ahead of the return fixture at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja, the enterprising winger has indicated the side will give their all to secure qualification at the expense of Nigeria.
“Is not over yet we are Ghana 🇬🇭 and we are giving it all on Tuesday again 🙏 ,” he tweeted.
Nigeria arrived back in Abuja in the early hours of Saturday morning after Friday’s game and have started preparing for the second leg in Abuja.
With the 0-0 draw in the first leg, a win would be enough to secure Nigeria’s place at World Cup finals.
Meanwhile, Ghana need a scoring draw or a win to eliminate their West African rivals and reach Qatar.
Black Stars are expected to travel to Abuja on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s crunch match.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has given approval to Nigeria to have 60,000 spectators for the return leg in Abuja.
