Young Ghanaian footballers in Italy's Youth division: Yeboah and Owusu on target for Hellas and Inter

Welcome to your weekly reports on the performances of young Ghanaian footballers in Italy’s Youth division.

The Primavera 1 division will feel the absence of Roma top striker Felix Ohene-Gyan, who is currently enjoying first-team football in Serie A under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.

Hopefully, Philip Yeboah of Hellas Verona and Enoch Owusu at Inter will make Ghanaians proud in the Italian youth league. The two were on target for their respective clubs over the weekend. There were also improved ratings on the performance of Ahmed Awua and Salim Abubakar.

Below are the performances of young Ghanaian footballers in Italy’s Youth divisions:

Philip Yeboah gave Hellas Verona the lead in the 74th minute to record his first goal of the season. He was then substituted two minutes later as Verona doubled their advantage in a 2-0 home win against Juventus.

Ratings 7 – Fundamental recovery for the fate of this Verona in the championship. The difference today can be seen: it is always dangerous, it is the reference point in front of it. The goal that brings Verona ahead has it all: physical strength, the bomber’s nose, coldness. The embrace with Corrent embodies the importance of this player in this squad.

Ahmed Awua returned to the starting lineup for  Parma against Cremonese after starting from the bench in midweek against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia.

Parma beat Cremonese by 6 goals to nil.

Ratings 6.5 – keeps the Cremonese strikers well, puts physicality, and today, unlike the last game, does not risk anything even in the setting.

Salim Abubakar was key for Sassuolo in their  1-1 draw against Lecce.  The lack of consistency in results should be a source of concern for the Neroverdi

Rating 6 – solidity and muscles in his game are constant, especially in the interdiction phase

Justin Kumi was on the bench for Sassuolo.

Thomas Boafo was in action for Brescia who drew 1-1 against Reggiana in Primavera 2.

In the same match, Denis Nana Manu was introduced in the 46th minute by Brescia.

Enoch Owusu was on target for inter in a 1-3 defeat to Torino at home. This is his first goal for the U-18 side after five appearances in the Primavera. Owusu lasted the entire duration of the match.

The game also featured new recruit Herbert Ansah for Torino. Ansah played 30 minutes of action.

Emmanuel Tannor and Thomas were in action for Parma when they humbled Ascoli by 4-1 at home. Tannor scored his second goal of the season in the 45th minute to equalise for Parma.

Bio was yanked off in the 72nd minute of the game.

Jeremiah Rudolf Boakye was an unused substitute when Sassuolo hosted Genoa

U-17

Mike Aidoo played 85 minutes for Inter who lost to city rival Milan in a 2-3 home defeat.
