Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari ready to fight for a starting place at Malmo FF
Ghanaian international, Malik Abubakari has expressed his readiness to fight for a starting place in the Malmo FF team for the 2022 football season.
The talented striker left Portugal last year and signed for the Swedish giants on a long-term deal after displaying outstanding form.
Due to the presence of Antonio Colak at Malmo FF, Malik Abubakari had to resort to bench-warming duties for most parts of the second round of the 2021 Swedish top-flight league campaign.
With the player leaving the club at the end of last season, the Ghanaian is confident this is his time to step into the big shoes.
Speaking in an interview as pre-season continues, Malik Abubakari says he will fight to be the starter at Malmo.
“It is clear that it would have been fantastic if I get a lot of playing time so that I can show my qualities and help my team and to make our fans smile. That’s what I want. But if that does not happen then I will always be ready if the coach replaces me in the second half. I know that I have good qualities and that I can make my team better,” the striker said in an interview.
Malik Abubakari continued, “Colak was here before I came to the club and it was he who started, and now it feels very good when I am with the team from the beginning of the year and get to be part of a pre-season with a new coach.”
The Ghanaian striker in the past played for Moreirense and Casa Pia, all in Portugal.
