RELIEF: Fans set to return to football venues after government lifts ban
There is massive relief for the football fraternity following government’s latest decision to lift the ban preventing fans from entering stadiums and other match venues during football games.
Football supporters have been prevented from attending match venues across the country since the Easter festivities as Government put in place measures to guard against an upsurge in Coronavirus infections.
However after careful engagement with the relevant stakeholders, a statement from the Ministry of Youth and Sports has confirmed the decision to lift the ban and allow for fans to return.
Per the release, match venues can admit up to 25% of its capacity with strict adherence to the Government and Ghana Football Association’s Covid-19 Match Day Protocols.
The release stated that the lifting of the ban takes immediate effect though the Ghana FA is yet to officially determine whether matches across various competitions will welcome fans back to venues.
