Former First Lady of Ghana Theresa Kufuor reported dead

Vida Essel-LampteyThe former First Lady of Ghana and wife of Ghana’s former President, John Agyekum Kufour, Mrs Theresa Kufuor has been reported dead.
Report said, Mrs Kufuor affectionately, called “nee Mensah” by close associate passed away on Sunday, October 1, at her home at Peduase in the Eastern Region.
She was 88years old at the time of her dead and 24days away from her 89 birthday celebration on 25 October.
Mrs Kufour, a nurse and midwife by profession served Ghana as the First Lady from January 7, 2001 to January 6, 2009 when his husband, Mr John Agyekum Kufour was elected succeeding Jerry John Rawlings as the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Serving as First Lady, she established the Mother to Child Community Development Foundation, a non governmental organization operating in Ghana and Canada to help in the proper development of children and prevent mother-to-child transmission of diseases.
