Match Report: WAFA 1-1 Dreams FC- Still Believe lads hold Academy boys to entertaining draw
WAFA and Dreams FC played out a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Sunday.
The game began with both teams trying to assert themselves in the middle of the pitch.
But the first real attempt on goal was in the 27th minute by Abdul Basit Issah whose feeble shot from close range was comfortably gathered by the visitors goalkeeper.
Few minutes later, WAFA had a penalty shout waved away after Basit weaved his way into the box before going down too easily according to the referee.
But the home team kept pushing and deservedly took the lead in late in the half.
Augustine Boakye drilled in a low shot past the right hand side of goalkeeper after a sublime assist from Lawrence Agyekum.
However, Dreams responded with an equalizer on the stroke of halftime. Ali Huzaif was hand to punish the home team after they failed to deal with a ball in the box.
The second half was not as exciting as both teams were limited to just a couple of half chances.
Neither defenses gave anything away as the side’s eventually settled for a draw.
