Black Stars newbies eager and motivated for success - Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew says the senior national team, the Black Stars has an enormous talent to be able to win a meaningful trophy.

CK Akonnor, who is the head coach of the Black Stars in his recent call ups has included young and newbies in his squad for friendlies and qualifies.

Philemon Baffour, Danlad Ibrahim, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Mohammed Kudus, Gideon Mensah, among others were all handed call up for the recent friendly games against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

With the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the Afcon approaching, Ayew believes the youngsters will help the team obtain its objectives.

“The talent is there; maybe a bit less experience but the talent, the endeavour, fighting spirit, the desire to do good things are there. I can feel it when I’m with the boys at camp, they are very hungry and motivated,” the captain for the Black Stars said as reported by Citi Sports.

“Fatawu, Kudus, Danlad; all these young guys coming up, they have a bright future but to be successful they need to be able to deal with the pressure.

“I hope that as a squad we will be ready to fulfil what the nation wants,” he added.

The African qualifiers for the World Cup are expected to begin in September this year, after which Ghana will shift attention to the 2022 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars have been tasked to end the country’s 39 years trophy drought and play in the semis of the Mundial in Qatar.
