Ashgold unperturbed by match fixing allegations – Thomas Duah
Fresh off after securing a place in the 2021 MTN FA Cup Finals, Head Coach of Ashantigold, Thomas Duah has revealed the club are unperturbed by claims of match-fixing being associated with the miners.
Ashgold have come under the microscope following their final day goals galore against already relegated Inter Allies. The miners defeated the Cappelli boys by 7-0, amongst which two of the goals were deliberate own goals from Allies Defender Hashim Musah.
The alleged match-fixing scandal has been taken up by the Ghana Football Association and investigations have already begun with some players of both teams appearing before the GFA Investigations Committee.
Coach Thomas Duah who guided the miners to their first FA Cup final since 2012 disclosed the players and technical team are unperturbed by the match-fixing allegations because they know the results being recorded are as a result of the hard work the team is putting in during the training sessions.
“We haven’t been affected at all because we know it is not true. It is never true Ashgold fixes matches.” – Thomas Duah told FMIG.
“The results we’re getting is because of the work we’re putting in during the training sessions. Whatever you’re doing just put your trust in God and you’ll reap the results. Whatever they are saying isn’t true” – Duah further added.
Ashgold will be looking to finish the season with some silverware when they take on Hearts of Oak in the 2021 MTN FA Cup Final.
