Tariq Lamptey return from injury sparked rapturous applause from Brighton supporters
Fit-again Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey return from injury sparked rapturous applause from Brighton and Hove Albion supporters last Sunday.
The enterprising full-back endured a difficult 2020/21 campaign due to injuries making only 11 appearances scoring just once for the club.
His season came to an abrupt end in March 2021 due to a hamstring injury. The last time he featured for the Premier League outfit was in December 2020.
After several months out of action, Tariq Lamptey made the matchday squad for their game against Leicester City over the weekend.
Despite not playing a part in the game, his presence among the substitutes was a boost for fans and when he ran out to warm up midway through the first half, it sparked rapturous applause from supporters in both the north and west stands.
This sparked smiles from Lamptey, who was then serenaded with a rendition of “There’s only one Tariq Lamptey.”
