“It’s a big step for me to develop” – Emmanuel Essiam on FC Basel move
Ghanaian youngster, Emmanuel Essiam believes FC Basel can help him develop as player as he eyed a successful career.
The 18-year-old signed a four-and-a-half year deal to join the Swiss giants from Berekum Chelsea in the ongoing transfer window.
“I’m really happy especially the first time I heard FC Basel was interested in me.
“I was excited and it was yes for me already knowing the fans of the club, the enthusiastic fans they have, I have heard a lot and the success here in Switzerland and in the European competitions.
“I was happy to join them alongside I heard they are having some great African history, players like Mohammed Sallah and El Neny [Mohammed].
“It’s a big step for me to develop and succeed in my career.” Emmanuel Essiam told FC Basel TV.
Essiam was a member of the squad that won the 2021 AFCON U-20 championship in Mauritania.
