Claims because I didn’t feature Fancy Gadam, Maccasio 1630 mentality – Angry Sista Afia
Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Francisca Gawugah known in Showbiz as Sista Afia has hit back at critics who blamed her recently flopped Tamale Queen Solomon concert for her failure to feature some prominent Northern-based artistes.
The singer who was billed to perform at the 21,000 capacity Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium had only about 500 patrons amidst a series of technical challenges.
A market survey suggests that her inability to put Fancy Gadam and Maccasio on the bill accounted for her woes as these have severally filled up the stadium in each of their concerts.
But Sista Afia who won’t take any of that described such arguments as an old-fashioned mentality.
“I see people saying it’s because I didn’t put Fancy or Maccasio on. That’s such a 1630 mentality and if we want to propel higher as creative arts, sometimes, we don’t have to allow such negative thought stick in”
According to her “Tamale has showed me love and I’m really grateful to be here, interact with my fan base and get to explore more of their culture.
I’ve seen so many publications about the concert last night but thing is, it was a beautiful event disregard what you seen on blogs. We had a few technical hitches which was beyond my solution
The event had very great anticipation in the past few days and the expectations were higher, so I don’t blame people for not seeing that hype after the concert. I couldn’t even perform for 5 minutes on stage but my love for Tamale remains, regardless.”
