Vida Essel-LampteyThe Chief Executive Officer of the Atta-Mills Institute, Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho has denied claims by the family of the late President, John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills that his grave has been tampered with.
In a twitter post sighted by GhanaPlus.com, he said all that is being done is to build a dignified tombstone deserving of the former President.
He added nobody has touched the grave of the late President.
“NOBODY has touched any grave. All that is being done; is to do a dignified tombstone. Honestly, why do some people think I should NOT tell the truth? So I should sit down for idiots to destroy the good work I am doing in memory of President Atta-Mills and the nation?,” Mr Anyidoho’s tweet reads.
He accompanied the tweet with a video showing the changes made to the grave and the old materials removed to pave way for the new structure.

Where is Prof’s Mills’ body
The family of the late President, Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills led by his brother Samuel Atta Mills on Tuesday July 19 accused Mr Anyidoho, a former aid to the late President of tempering with his grave without the knowledge of the family.
They questioned among other things, where his remains is and under whose authority his grave was opened as a result of the redevelopment of the Asomdwee Park where his mortal is laid.
“A group calling itself Atta Mills Institute that the family doesn’t even recognize, and Coastal Development Authority, have gone to break the grave of President John Evans Atta Mills.
“They have removed the tomb, and they claim that they are rebuilding it,” 3news.com reported, Mr Samuel Atta-Mill who is the Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem said at press conference.
“My question is that, we have a family tradition. Now that they have touched someone’s grave, is the body still in there? Who has the body? Why will you touch the body without informing the family head? Under whose authority,? he quizzed.
The described the development as an insult to the family.
“Why do they want us to always go through grief? This is a former president, why will the government allow this to happen? This is an insult to the family and the nation.”
Asomdwee Park
The Asomdwee Park where the late President was buried is currently undergoing redevelopment to make it more deserving of resting place of a former President.
The GHc4.4million project is being funded by the government of Ghana, under the auspices of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA).
When completed the park, named ‘Asomdwee Park’ to exhibit the peaceful nature of the former President will host offices, car parks and ten(10) other graves aside that of the late President.
The redeveloped Asomdwee park will be officially opened by the President of Ghana on Sunday, July 23.
