2023 School placement released

Today marks the release of the 2023 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), intended for TVET and senior high schools.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Education, 585,797 students were eligible for placement out of the 598,839 results that were obtained from WAEC.

“A total of 477,772 (81.56%) have automatically been placed in one of their choices,” said the ministry.

The ministry claims that this is a major improvement over the previous year.

Nevertheless, none of the 108,025 (18.44%) eligible applicants could be matched with them.

As a result, the ministry has recommended that all of these students use “self-placement” to choose from among the institutions that are open.

According to the government, candidates can modify the schools they choose on the Self-Placement Portal as many times as they like until they register in a school.

Additionally, it guaranteed that “all schools with vacancies have been uploaded on the portal for students to select from during self-placement without hitches.” This assurance was extended to parents, the general public, and students, particularly those who could not be matched with their selections during the automated placement.

Additionally, the Education Ministry issued a warning against giving money to dubious individuals who guarantee to improve children’s schools, claiming that “the Computerised School Placement is merit-based.”
