Ahantaman Rural Bank hands over refurbished chemistry lab to St Mary's Boys School



Ahantaman Rural Bank on Monday, June 20, 2022, officially handed over a fully refurbished chemistry laboratory to the St.Mary’s Boy’s Senior High School in Apowa as part of their cooperate social responsibility in supporting education.

In a brief ceremony to hand over the project to the School, a former teacher and a house master of the school who is now the The Chief Executive Officer of Ahantaman Rural Bank, Mr Afful Ashun mentioned that the newly renovated chemistry lab which cost Ghc130,000 is a PTA initiative which they approach the bank to pre-financing it but he used his office and affiliation to the school to convince the Board of Ahantaman Rural Bank to approve the pre-financing of the project.

He however commended the PTA led by Mr Kwaku Twum Barima for his efficiency and hard work.

He also used the occasion to donate a gas cylinder and accessories to be used in the lab.

The Headmaster of the School Rev. Fr. Eduayaw Ansah on his part noted that in St.Mary’s Boy’s Senior High School with the majority of its students being science students, refurbishment of the chemistry lab was much needed to enhance teaching and learning.

He thanked all stakeholders, especially the PTA and Ahantaman Rural Bank for the financial backing and promised that the facility will be well taken care of.
