Anti LGBTQ Law: I support it 100%

The founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews alias Osofo Kyiri Abosom, says Ghana must not entertain LGBTQ+.

Rev Andrews speaking at a press conference on Friday, March 1, in Takoradi noted that Ghanaians must stick to the natural laws of procreation and adhere to high moral standards of the African society.

This comes after Ghana’s parliament passed the controversial new anti-LGBTQ bill following months of debate that could make it illegal to identify as a citizen of the LGBTQ in the country

The bill named the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill — was passed by parliament on Wednesday in a unanimous vote by lawmakers.

The proposed law states that it aims to “provide for proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values.”

It now awaits being signed into law by Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo.

Rev Andrews said, “There is no reason for us to entertain that, and they are the cause of many unfortunate incidents in the country.”

“I support the bill 100% and hope is it signed by the president into law because we cannot change the pattern of the natural routine of a man having sex with a woman and vice versa.”
