Apowa-Mpohor-Benso road 35% complete - Contractor

The Roads and Highways Minister, Mr Kwasi Amoako Attah was on tour on Wednesday, January 12, in the Western Region to inspect ongoing road projects and upcoming ones.

One of his destinations was Apowa in the Ahanta West District which he inspected the 16.7km Apowa-Mpohor-Benso road that is being constructed by Justmoh Constructions.

The project is being funded under the Cocoa Road Improvement Programme which is also for the upgrading of some feeder roads in the Western Region under the Periodic Maintenance Programme.

Upgrading of the Apowa-Benso feeder road is an interior feeder road and if completed will serve the following communities along the road corridors: Kejebril, Prestea, Anwonakrom, Mpohor, Dominase, Adum Banso and Benso.

The contract was awarded in September 2020 and work commenced on February 10, 2021, and will be completed in August 2022.

The contractor of the project spoke to Skyy Power 93.5FM indicating that the project is now 35% complete which GHS8,084,907 out of GHS33,966,960 of the contract sum has been utilised.
