Carmeuse Lime Products supports Skyy 2024 Annual Blood Donation exercise

Carmeuse Lime Products has pledged its support for the annual Skyy Power/ Efiankwanta Blood Donation exercise.

General Manager for Carmeuse Lime Products Faisal Iddrisu says the company considers the Blood Donation Exercise as part of its annual sustainability programme and a way of giving back to society hence Carmeuse would continue to support it in cash and in kind.

Mr. Iddrisu a blood donor himself advised would-be donors to not be afraid to donate.

The CEO of Skyy Media Group Mr. Wilson Arthur while presenting a citation of appreciation to Carmeuse Lime Products said the exercise began when management realized that the Western Region had the highest maternal mortality rate in Ghana.

When a follow-up was done it was realized that the blood bank could not store enough blood to meet the demand of patients. Hence the blood donation campaign was initiated to help solve the problem.

They therefore partnered with the Efiankwanta Blood Bank to donate blood to those who might need it.

Initially the campaigns were held in Tarkwa, Bibiani and Takoradi but with time other radio stations were established and they took over the Tarkwa and Bibiani projects while Skyy focused on the Takoradi campaign.

Mr. Arthur went on to thank Carmeuse for their continued support towards the blood donation exercise over the years.
