36-year-old caterer Isaac Tweneboah Koduah was found guilty of unnatural carnal knowledge and sentenced to 20 years in hard labour by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.
In response to his guilty plea, the court chaired by Mrs. Hathia Ama found him guilty.
“I do not know what is happening to me, and I do not know if I can be given any help,” Koduah disclosed to the court during mitigation. I’m even willing to carry out the same crime.”
Superintendent of Police Juliana Essel-Dadzie presented the case’s details, stating that Koduah dwells in Gyantekrom, and the complainant (name withheld) is thirty years old and jobless. Both reside in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.
About five months ago, according to the prosecution, the complainant and Koduah met at Gyantekrom, became friends, and exchanged contacts.
A few days later, according to Superintendent Essel-Dadzie, the convict gave the complainant a call and asked him to come to his house so he could help him with his business.
Since they were friends, the complainant accepted when the inmate persuaded him to visit his home over the phone on November 14, 2023.
The prosecution informed the court that Koduah begged the complainant to wait for him in his room when he arrived, claiming he was going to the loo.
When the complainant regained consciousness, Superintendent Essel-Dadzie claimed, he discovered his penis was in Koduah’s mouth and was discharged.
She said that Koduah was slapped by the complainant, who was taken aback by his demeanour, and he was able to escape from his room and reported the case to the Police at the Aboso Police Station where he was arrested to assist in the investigation.
Superintendent Essel-Dadzie added that during the inquiry, the prisoner acknowledged the offence in his caution statement and made reference to his intense sexual desire for men..
