The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Chairman for Takoradi Constituency has hinted that the estranged Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) will be reinstated soon.
Mr Justice Acquah disclosed this information on the Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Skyy Power 93.5FM on Monday, June 25.
He said, “Very soon, the mayor, Mr Abdul Mumin will be reinstated as the MCE for Sekondi-Takoradi. We don’t know the plans of the President for now but we are very sure of that.”
Mr Mumin is on suspension for verbally assaulting a police commander; an issue which is currently in court.
The minister having an overnight role as the mayor has been criticized by some people who say it is what has crippled the growth of the Metropolis.
Reacting to the concerns, Mr Aquah said things are as they should be when the minister took over and he is optimistic that the mayor will soon be reinstated.
