Coup is ugly, Ghanaians shouldn’t think of it – Nana Kobina Nketsia V – Skyy Power FM
The paramount chief of Essikado Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketsia V is calling on Ghanaians to desist and not encourage the staging of coup de tat in the country.
Nana Kobina Nketsia speaking at a public forum in Takoradi on Ghana’s parliament’s 30th anniversary in the fourth republic said Niger’s coup has revealed a lot of problems in Africa to Africans as he believes external forces are influencing these actions.
In recent years, there has been a reversal of democratic gains in Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, and Niger which are all countries in the West African Sub-region.
He said, “Looking at what has happened in Ghana in the past 30 years, it’s quite surprising how some people in the country were defending Coup de tats…”
“This Niger coup is revealing the problem of Africa to Africans, who are the people pulling the strings. You know the Geo politics of the continent, it is worth thinking about this thing at this time, looking at Niger, we don’t even if the people who are doing this are being polluted by their puppets.”
He said Ghana’s parliament has to show the lead in Africa because the rulership in Ghana lies in parliament and they cannot afford to sell us out.
“It is parliament who holds the morality of this country, if Ghana is corrupt then parliament is not doing its duty, we can’t sit down and sit down and look at corruption walk in our faces.”
