The public has been urged to utilise the online registration system by Mr. Frank Gasese, the Western Regional Director of the Driver Licencing and Vehicular Authority (DVLA), in order to relieve traffic at the Authority’s numerous offices.
He claimed that the start of each year, especially January, was peak registration season, which over the years had led to offices being congested and placing pressure on the authority’s staff and clients.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gasese—also known as Togbega Binah Lawluvi VII—and the Paramount Chief of Ziope Traditional Area stated that the introduction of the Vehicle Registration System, a portal for vehicle owners, had thus proven useful in saving customers’ wait times at the offices of the Authority and advance convenience as well as increase turnaround time in service delivery.
The DVLA’s Western Regional Director went on to say that numerous user issues were reported by clients and the Authority following the launch of the online system in the last quarter of 2023.
“But our Management Information System Group has worked hard to resolve all of these issues so that by 2024, everything runs well. We are determined to abandon the manual registration system, and we need our clients to support us in this endeavour.

According to Mr. Gasese, customers may benefit greatly from online registration since it served to deter stolen vehicles. “The system can link all information including, Ghana Card details, road worthy and registration information and so nobody will be able to double register,” the statement “doubling up”
