ECG disconnects TTU, Busua Beach over GH¢2.4 million debt – Skyy Power FM

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disconnected the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and Busua Beach Resort over GHS2.4 million debt.

According to the Western Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) for ECG, Mr. Benjamin Quarcoo, said TTU owes GH$1.3 million, while Busua Beach Resort owes GH$1.135,000 in debt.

This comes after ECG task force embarked on a massive disconnection exercise in a bid to mobilise revenue.

Mr. Quarcoo speaking to Skyy News said they will only restore power when the debt is paid in full.

He said some businesses took action to settle their debt after they made the announcement on March 20 while others made partial payments, but the amount they have accumulated thus far is not encouraging.

He said, “Most of the companies who got disconnected have paid their monies. We looking forward to see companies who are yet to get disconnected to walk to our offices and make payment but they did not, the reason we are on the field to take this action.”
