Fire razes down 2 rooms in Effiakuma

2 rooms have been razed by fire in Effikuma in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.

The 2 affected rooms are being occupied by a single mother of four children.

A tenant who witnessed the incident told Skyy News that she saw smoke engulfing her room and upon trying to figure out what might be the cause, she saw her direct neighbours’ rooms on fire.

She alerted her roommates and they quickly packed some of their belongings to avoid losing any.

She said, “We were watching television and suddenly saw smoke engulfing our room, we went out to see what was happening and what we saw was our neighbour’s rooms on fire.”

“We are students and we are about fifteen (15) occupying a room, our neighbour is a single mother with about 4 children, honestly we don’t know what caused the fire.”

DO II (2) Peter Dadzie of the Ghana National Service told Skyy News that his department is yet to know the cause of the fire and that, had it not been for their swift intervention, the fire would have razed down all the twelve rooms in the house.
