Freddy King Foundation donates learning materials to schools in Effia Constituency

The Freddy King Foundation has donated learning materials to seven (7) schools in the Effia Constituency of the Western Region on Friday, June 17.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation, Mr Fredrick Dodou, as part of his birthday celebration decided to show love to some deprived schools, including his alma mater in the municipality he grew up in.

The schools were his former Junior High School, Rev Cobbah Yalley JHS, Archbishop Porter A Primary School, T.I Ahmadiyah Primary School, Effia Methodist Primary School, Dunwell Methodist Primary School, Al-Zahra Primary School and Tanokrom M/A Primary School.

Some of the items given to the students were water bottles, over two thousand customised exercise books, story books, pens and mathematical sets.

The headteachers of the schools also provided the foundation with names of needy but brilliant students who are going to be supported throughout their education including their families as well.

He said, “The headteachers will furnish us with the names of needy but brilliant students, we know these schools don’t pay fees but there are some levies they pay and for money to even take care of them from their homes; we will like to support the family with that.”

Mr Freddy also proposed a vacation class at the end of every term in all seven (7) schools which the foundation will facilitate to see to it that, students do not engage themselves in illicit acts during such periods.

He said, “We will pay the teachers for the vacation classes, the children will not have not to pay anything, the only thing they have to do is to come to the vacation class to avoid the issues of kids getting into trouble”

Mr Doudu speaking to Skyy News indicated the objective of this exercise was not only to share items with the students but to also get access to the school, know the challenges the schools are facing and know how best they can do to resolve them.
