GES assures partnership with NSS

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has given assurance that it will continue to partner with the National Service Scheme to support education in the country in diverse ways.

Speaking at the 50th anniversary Remembrance Day ceremony for all fallen heroes of the Scheme, The Western Regional Director of the GES Felicia Agyeibea Okine said the Golden Jubilee is worth celebrating.

She said although the scheme has had its fair share of challenges it has been able to stand the test of time.

Madam Okine added that the scheme has among other things, helped to provide essential services to schools, particularly in rural areas across the country, produced skilled manpower through practical training and promoted national unity.

“We will never want the scheme to end because you are really a force to reckon with, it has helped provide essential services to our schools, particularly our towns and villages across the country.”

“It has developed skilled manpower through practical training, promoted national unity and strengthened the bond of common citizenship among Ghanaians.”
