The National Identification Authority (NIA) says in acquiring a Ghana card, there are some specific services an individual is required to pay a fee.
The Regional Manager for NIA for Western Region Enoch Ben Sackey speaking on Skyy Power FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show clarified that it requires no fee to be paid when one is registering for his or her Ghana Card for the first time.
However, the only point a fee is required is when an individual requires their premium service which costs GHS110 for card replacement.
He further explained that it costs GHS280 when one willingly decides to register for the first time at the Premium Service Center.
And that the charges for their regular service for card replacement and change of name are GHS34 50P
He urged people to make complaints to NIA officials should any fee or charges be demanded from them when it doesn’t fall under the mentioned categories.
