Ghana Gas, Quantum Terminal Plc break ground for $2M 20-bed mini hospital – Skyy Power FM
Ghana Gas and Quantum Terminal Plc break ground for $2,860,00 20-bed mini hospital facility at Aiyinase.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 20-bed capacity mini hospital at Aiyinase in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region was held on Tuesday 15th August 2023.
The $2,860,000 project which is being funded by Ghana Gas and Quantum Terminal PLC, a gas distribution company is expected to be completed in 12 calendar months.
Speaking during the ceremony, the District Health Director of Ellembelle Dr. Augustine Amoako said construction of the mini hospital will improve maternal health delivery and ease the pressure on the Eikwe St. Martins Depores Hospital.
He also spoke about a recent Ghana Health policy known as the Network of Policy which is in its early stages of implementation that is being started in all districts.
The Senior Manager, Community Relations and CSR for Ghana Gas Mr. Stephen Donkor in an interview with Skyy News said the project is a way of giving back to the community after the support it has received from them all these years.
He added that the facility when completed will be able to perform about 80% of what Eikwe Hospital would be doing.
The District Chief Executive of Ellembelle Kwasi Bonzoh said Aiyinase is the biggest commercial town in the district, with about 27% of the population however the current hospital that serves Aiyinase is too small to serve its residents and that is why the hospital project is a commendable one because it will ensure that the people receive quality healthcare.
Furthermore, the DCE said that the project would be keenly supervised by the assembly’s engineers to make sure that quality work is done so that they will get value for money.
