Goldfields Ghana donates relief items to support flood victims in Tarkwa – Skyy Power FM

Goldfields Ghana has donated relief items to the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly in support of flood victims in affected communities in the municipality.

The items included 20 roofing sheets, 50 bags of cement, 50 students’ mattresses and a variety of medicines.

In June 2023, the heavy rains in the constituency led to flooding in some communities leading to some health, social and safety implications.

Some communities were also cut off completely as a result of the flood and were thus unable to access services.

A technical team was set up which comprised Goldfields Ghana, AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine and Ghana Manganese Company and other relevant professionals to take stock of victims and prescribe possible relief interventions.

Sandra Deladem Woanyah, Project Manager – Goldfields Ghana Foundation said a request was made to Goldfields to assist with relief items and as a foundation, they work together with the assembly to develop the communities in which they operate hence the donation.
