The International Day of the Girl Child was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah. We marked this significant day with a grand celebration, filled with a plethora of activities that left a lasting impact.
The commemoration began with an extensive medical screening over the weekend, including crucial tests such as breast cancer screenings for both young girls and mothers.
The emphasis on healthcare was a testament to their commitment to the well-being of the community. In parallel, an engaging soap making training session was organized to empower our young ladies and mothers, equipping them with valuable skills.
Tuesday brought an electrifying showdown between two remarkable female soccer teams, Sankara Ladies FC and Gbewaa Ladies FC. The thrilling match was a testament to the strength and unity of women in sports, ending with a resounding 6-0 victory for Sankara Ladies FC. To promote their health and dignity, each participant received sanitary pads.
The main event unfolded on Wednesday, with a gathering of distinguished duty bearers, experts, and stakeholders from various fields, all coming together to share their experiences and knowledge with the young ladies and students.
The theme of “Leading with grace and grit: Highlighting the resilience and strength of women leaders” resonated throughout the day, inspiring all in attendance. Notable speakers highlighted the achievements of women leaders and their unwavering grace and determination.
The presence of the Special Guest of Honor, Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah, was a testament to her unwavering support for girl child welfare and women’s empowerment.
Other influential speakers further emphasized the significance of this event. Lastly, on Thursday, we extended our care to over 300 women by providing them with extensive medical screening and essential first aid medications.
They extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hajia Abibata for her unwavering support, and we pray that God continues to guide her endeavors.
