Jubilating Lottery Winner Kills 5 people over GH¢1,200 win

A first-time lottery winner, Wisdom Kpodo has killed five persons in jubilation over GH¢1,200 lottery win.
The five, Faustina Afi Amegashie, 70, Regina Edzia, 41, Rebecca Agbanavor, 17, Etornam Agbanavor, 9, and Charity Agbanavor Exornam, 2 years were said to be members of one family in Tegbi Vakpomda in the Anlo District of the Volta Region.
The incident was said to have happened last Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
The Keta Municipal Police, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was in police custody assisting an investigation

The Incident
According to the report, the 30-year-old unemployed Wisdom Kpodo won GH¢1,200 lottery for the first time after several years of trying unsuccessfully.
In celebration, Kpodo, whose joy knew no bound over his eventual win jumped into a taxi, with registration number GT 4482 U, about 4:00 pm, together with two of his friends and drove recklessly, killing the five in the process after a failed attempt to overtake other vehicles.
The Assembly Member of Tegbi Afedome Electoral Area, Mr. Noel Kokoroko who spoke to the source said Wisdom moved the taxi from Woe near Tegbi to Keta at top speed with others shouting “no size, no size”.
On his return to Woe and on reaching Vakpomda, Wisdom lost control of the steering and run into the house of the victims which was about 40 metres away from the road, killing two of them at the spot.
Three others were pronounced dead on arrival at the Keta Government Hospital.
