Ken Ofori, other ministers relieved of their duty

With immediate effect, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reshuffled his cabinet and deputies.

A statement announcing this was made public on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Ken Ofori Atta, the Finance Minister who was removed from office, was at the top of the list.

This significant reshuffle affected eight deputy ministers and nine ministers. However, two deputy ministers and four other ministers were moved to alternative responsibilities.

Francis Asenso Boakye, the Works and Housing Minister, has been transferred to the Roads and Highways Ministry, while Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, has been reallocated to the Works and Housing Ministry.

Ambrose Dery, the interior minister, was also transferred as a Minister of State to the President’s Office.

Deputy Information Minister, Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar, was upgraded and is now the minister-designate for the Ministry of Information. Deputy Minister of Energy, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has also been moved to the position of Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister-designate
