The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Shama Constituency, Mr Kwame Tawia says Kennedy Agyapong’s winning in Shama was a result of big propaganda used against him and the District Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Dadzie.
Mr Kwame Tawiah who is a staunch supporter of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said delegates were of the view that he and the DCE have benefitted financially from Dr Bawumia, hence the reason delegates in Shama voted against the vice president.
He said, “People were spreading rumours that Dr Bawumia gave me money to share among the delegates which everyone was supposed to receive GHS4,000 each but I gave them GHS400, hence their reason for voting against Dr Bawumia, which is not even true.”
He said every election and its dynamics hence Mr Kennedy Agyapong winning the elections in Shama would not have any effect on the parliamentary primaries.
“Every election and its dynamics, Mr Kennedy Agyapong wining does not mean the MP will lose, because he supported Dr Bawumia, anything can happen because every election is different,” he added.
