Krachi East MCE found dead in hotel in Kumasi
Francis Kofi Okesu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East in the Oti Region, was discovered dead in a Kumasi hotel room.
On Sunday, police discovered his dead lying naked in bed with his left arm hanging by the bed.
Health professionals carefully examined the body and discovered no signs of violence.
According to investigations the deceased and his driver, Sylvester Attah, had checked into the hotel late on Friday, September 2.
However, the driver departed to check into a new hotel.
Since checking into the hotel, Mr Kofi Okesu had not been seen, and attempts to contact him had been fruitless.
Investigations revealed that Mr Attah was unable to reach him on Sunday, September 4, the day of his intended return to Dambai.
The manager of the aforementioned hotel in Kumasi filed a formal complaint with the police.
The Police then entered his room and discovered Mr Okesu’s deceased body.
The police went to the scene of the incident to start their investigation into what might have caused his death.
Police sources claim that although they searched the room, they had not yet discovered anything illegal.
Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Abraham Antwi, the municipal chief executive of Oforikrom, and other security personnel have all been present.
