Kuntum 22: Take advantage of your formal education to become great
The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly’s Guidance and Counselling Coordinator has told Junior High School (JHS) pupils to take advantage of the formal education they are receiving.
Mr Fitzgerald Josiah said there are many lifetime opportunities in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis that JHS pupils with formal education can take advantage of to become better individuals.
Mr Josiah was speaking at the Career Counselling for JHS Pupils, a program that has been organised for all JHS pupils in the Essikado Traditional area as part of the Kuntum festival celebration.
He said, “If you don’t take advantage of such opportunities, others will do and become better than you,”
“We can learn through so many means but the formal education is a well-designed one where you can develop very well, there are people who are working very hard but could not reach the limelight because of lack of formal education.”
“If you have the potential and you go through the proper education, it will help you,” he added.
Mr Josiah further told the pupils not to be complacent because they are not the only ones in the country aiming high and for them to reach the top, they have to be competitive.
He said the outcome of such competition will lead the students to pass with flying colours which will elevate the name of Essikado, as well as themselves to become notable personalities in the country.
“You are not the only students or school in the country, there are others and in order to get to the top, it’s a tough competition and therefore must do everything possible and not relax but must compete well.”
“This will result in pupils passing with flying colours which will lead to the elevation of the Essikado community.”
