Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Launches Golden Jubilee Celebration

The Mount Olivet Methodist Church, Lagos Town society under the Kwesimintsim circuit over the weekend launched its Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Harvest at the church’s premises.

The resident minister, Rev Seth Kobina Amoah speaking to Skyy News on the sidelines of the launch said the congregation is grateful to God for how far he has brought them considering that the church was started in a wooden structure.

He said for the past 50 years the church has raised many persons to serve the nation and the world at various levels

Rev. Amoah added that they are still fulfilling their mandate as worldly agents in the hands of God in his creation.

Rev Nana Bentum (Diocesan Children’s Ministry coordinator/ Diocesan Media Coordinator, Obuase Diocese) said the theme for the celebration is “DISCIPLESHIP: KEEPING THE HERITAGE OF JESUS CHRIST – NURTURING LIVES FOR 50 YEARS THUS FAR AND BEYOND (EPHESIANS 4:14-15) is a recollection of what has been done through the heritage inherited from Jesus like his prayer life, worship service and humility.

He said people have been nurtured and trained for ministry in the 50 years that Mount Olivet has been in existence and this must be celebrated.

The climax of the 50th anniversary celebrations will be on August 4, 2024.
