MTN Ghana donates to Dagbon Traditional Council to support damba celebration.
MTN Ghana has donated an amount of Ghc15,000 to the Overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II to support the annual Damba festival celebration.
The commitment of MTN Ghana to fully joined the celebration again supported the palace with an amount of airtime worth GH¢ 1,000 to enable the chiefs and elders to communicate effectively throughout the festive season.
Additionally, assorted drinks, and water were part of their commitment to the festival celebration.
In addition to this donation, MTN Ghana has supported the traditional authorities to organised Inter-community football Gala match, Grand Durbar and some social activities throughout the festive period.
The winner of the Inter-community football gala match would be awarded a set of jerseys and some amount of money.
The Northern Regional Manager, Retail Experience, Kwami Aseye Agude said that MTN Ghana has placed special importance on the things that matter to the people of Ghana, and prominent among these were the celebration of festivals.
He added that festivals revealed a lot about the Ghanaian society and are considered an integral part of Ghanaian culture and society, stating that “MTN Ghana has made it a duty to support many traditional authorities each year across the country and to keep alive the values and principles that identify us as Africans.”
He hope that the support in these areas would help in enriching the activities earmarked for this year’s damba celebration.
To provide distinct customer experience during the celebration, Mr. Agude stated that MTN Ghana has set up an experience centers at vantage points to provide customers with an enhanced customer experience whilst they celebrate.
Mr. Agude said that a month has been set aside to educate their customers on cyber security awareness and mobile money fraud to served their customers butter.
“we wish the chiefs and people of the Dagbon long life, peace and prosperity, looking forward to a sustained partnership with you as you showcase your rich culture and traditional values through this festival celebration,” he said.
He encouraged the people of Dagbon to access the innovative products and services like Sunday special, MTN Jara, Free after one, and Akwaaba promotion among many others.
For his part, the Public Relations Officer of Dagbon Traditional Council, Musah Yakubu who speak on behalf of the overlord commended MTN Ghana for donating to support the annual Damba festival celebration.
He added that these would go a long way to minimised the pressure on the overlord during the celebration.
“This is not the first time, they have been supporting over the years and these has build a good relationship between MTN and the palace”, he said.
He added that the palace was always available to support MTN Ghana when ever the need arose.
