MTN Ghana Foundation to raise 7000 units of blood at its annual “Save a Life” Blood donation

MTN Ghana Foundation today held the 2024 edition of the annual MTN “Save A Life Campaign” Blood Donation Exercise in some selected locations in the Westside Region.

In all, 47 centres in all 16 regions of Ghana took part in the “Save A Life” blood donation exercise where MTN is seeking to raise 7,000 units of blood to help medical facilities provide critical health care to its patients. Speaking about the event, Senior Manager South West Business District MTN – Prince Owusu Nyarko said MTN is committed to supporting healthcare delivery in Ghana.

He said in 2023, the company was able to raise 6240 units of blood and based on that they have set for themselves a target of 7000 units nationwide and 750 units for the Western Region.

Mr. Nyarko added that it’s a well-known fact that there is insufficient blood in the various blood banks of the country and that’s the reason the MTN Foundation put this together.

According to him, the blood donation exercise is the best gift MTN can give to Ghanaians especially with 14th February being Valentine’s Day to show love to the people of Ghana.
