An aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Ellembelle constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Abeka Dauda says his suspension from the party is a grand scheme by some executives to oust him from the parliamentary primaries.
According to him, some of the party executives at the constituency and regional levels have an agenda to give Mr Kwasi Bonzo, a three-time parliamentary candidate and the current District Chief Executive (DCE) at the Ellembelle constituency an unopposed run.
For this reason, he is being witch-hunted to suit their personal interest.
Mr Abeka Dauda during the parliamentary vetting for the Orphan constituencies in the Western Region was successfully passed and will be number two on the ballot paper after the vetting.
He said, “This is a grand scheme by the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr Ndede-Nsia, Mr Kwasi Bonzo and the executives of the Ellembelle constituency to oust him from the contest and give Kwasi Bonzo and unopposed run.”
“These above mentioned individuals are ochestrating this and the reason for my suspension does not even have enough basis for it to hold even though I accepted and later appealed at the natioal level.”
Accordiong to Abeka Dauda, he was suspended for using the NPP logo for his personal works which he believes all other executives and even his opponent does same, so why the call for a suspension?
However Mr Dauda remarked that the decision of his suspension does not affect him contesting in the primaries.
The Chairman of the Ellembelle constituency speaking on the issue said Mr Abeka Dauda was suspended because he brought division among party members.
“We could not watch him bring division among party members, he was perpetuating lies against some party executives hence the reason for his suspension as well,” he added.
