Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings Marks birthday without husband for the first time in 43years

The Former First Lady and wife of the late Former President, Jerry John Rawlings would for the first time in 43years mark her birthday alone.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings turned 72-year-old today but for the death of her husband, the celebration would have been grand.

The two got married in 1977 and have since spent 43years of a lifetime together with a blessing of four children, three daughters, and a son.

Celebrating her mother on her special day, their son, Kimathi Rawlings has taken to his Twitter handle to send his mother a message.

According to him, despite the grief, the family has found themselves at the moment, it was the responsibility of the living to keep the joyous memory of the departed.

He wished her long and a healthy life.

Together with a video in which his late father share a dance with his mother at an event believed to be excerpts from Nana Konadu’s birthday last year, Kimathi wrote;

“I know this won’t be a normal birthday for you but the living always have a responsibility to keep the Joyous memory of the Departed. May God keep you long & healthy for us. Happy birthday mum. We love you; Ghana loves you too & celebrates you too. #MrsKonaduRawlingsAt72”.
