The Presiding Member (PM) in the Shama District Assembly in Shama says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will lose the presidential elections come 2024.
Mr Mark Ackon speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show on Skyy Power 93.5FM said former President John Mahama is not the ideal candidate to win power for the NDC.
He said Ghanaians cannot be ‘fooled’ twice because John Mahama has been tried and tested but failed in the process and that is the reason he lost by a historic margin in 2016.
Mr Ackon said the NDC is going to move from a political party to a pressure group when they lose the 2024 elections, the reason being that after Mahama loses in 2024, there will not be any suitable candidate to lead the party to power.
He said, “A pressure group is a group that only influences some government legislation but does not win any elections and I believe that is what the NDC will be when they lose the 2024 elections.”
“Before the NDC lost power to the NPP, there was serious hardship in the country and even though there is a bit of hardship under the NPP, it is like the best performance of the NDC since they ruled Ghana.”
