The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Shama Constituency ) Lawyer Samuel Erikson Abakah says despite the economic challenges, they are still popular and poised to ‘Break The 8’.

Speaking at a Capacity Building Youth Conference, themed ‘Holding Together, Working Together, Breaking the 8’, at the Shama Constituency organised by the Shama Youth Wing, on Saturday, January 21, Lawyer Abakah stated that the current economic challenges in the country will not deter citizens from voting massively for the NPP.

He indicated that the current economic challenges are a global phenomenon caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war which the citizens are clearly aware and know the Akufo-Addo government is working tirelessly to restore the economy.

Lawyer Abakah added that the country would have sunk and reached an irredeemable state if the NDC was in power.

He said, “Nana Addo in his second term has faced challenges which are unprecedented, we have never had a global pandemic like the Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War so this government has done its best to sustain the economy.”

The Western Regional Youth Organiser for the NPP, Mr Benedict Addae speaking to Skyy News at the Capacity building program added that it is necessary for the polling station youth organisers to know their roles and duty hence the call for the capacity building program.

He said polling executives normally forget about their core mandate and focus on their interests instead of the interest of the political party.

He then urged the polling station executives to have the party at heart and serve in the interest of the party.

“They have a very core mandate and a role to play because if the polling station executives do what is needed of them it translates to the electoral area and the constituency, then to the regional and to the national.”

“I am here as a regional youth organiser to energize the party and let my polling station youth organisers know their roles, duty and responsibility.
