NPP Primaries: Paul Essien wins Jomoro

Mr. Paul Essien, a former Jomoro Member of Parliament (MP), won the Jomoro New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries.

Against two other candidates, he received 496 of the 1,055 valid votes cast in the election that was overseen and managed by Madam Lydia Ignatius Cudjoe, the Municipal Electoral Officer.

Ishmael Evonla Kwame Whajah received 270 valid votes, while Mr Paul Hopesan Kwaw received 289 valid votes.

Two ballots were turned down.

Nominations for candidates to run in orphan Constituencies around the nation were launched by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Executive Council (NEC).

The Jomoro primaries, which were supposed to take place on December 4, 2023, were rescheduled because of a miscommunication among the parliamentary aspirants.
