The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has been asked to refund about twenty-four thousand Ghana cedis (24,000) balance accrued from public toilets in 2020.
The revelation came to light when the Coordinating Director and the MFO for the assembly took their turn at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Monday, May 22, at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, Western Region.
According to PAC, the STMA generated about GHS27,000 from public toilet proceeds but the assembly accounted for only GHS2000 and some coins.
The Chairman of PAC James Klutse said that money cannot go unaccounted for, so the STMA has been given one month to refund the money or will face some sanctions.
