Reinstatement of Takoradi MCE: We haven't received any official confirmation

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) Mr John Last says they have not received any official confirmation on the reinstatement of the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE).

Rumours that were circulating on social media indicated that the estranged MCE, who was arrested for a traffic offence and offensive conduct towards a police officer and was further suspended by the government has been reinstated.

Confirming this news, Mr Last was contacted by Skyy Power 93.5FM to ascertain the facts concerning what is circulating on social media.

He said, “We have also heard rumours about his reinstatement but we have not received any official communique from the central government to back these claims.”

“We saw him yesterday for the first time at the premises of the STMA since his suspension…but it does not mean he has been reinstated because we have not received any official letter for that.”

According to reports, Mr Abdul Mumin Issah was arrested on Thursday, February 3, 2022, for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.
