Residents of Kwaprow give authorities of UCC 48 hours to render apology to their chief



Residents of Kwaprow, a suburb of the Cape Coast North Constituency in the Central Region have given a 48hour ultimatum to the authorities of the University of Cape Coast to render an unqualified apology and also retract what they called disparaging they made against their Chief, Nana Kwesi Mensah all in the school’s recent press release.

A release by the institution dated 9th August 2022 on portions of lands occupied by the University has been described as unacceptable and provocative by the youth in the community.

The release follows an earlier press conference by the chiefs and people in the area demanding that as custodians parts of the school lands be given to them.

The angry youths at a press briefing held on yesterday accused the school’s Assistant Senior Registrar, Mr Kwabena Antwi-Konadu who casting doubt on the hierarchy of the Kwapro chief.

They said their chief has been duly gazetted and recognised by the Oguamnan Council.

“We are not happy with what the wrote about our chief, they want to claim our chief has not been gazetted which is not true because they paramount chief has approved him and has been documented in the national house of chiefs document. The Assistant Senior Registrar will hear from us if they don’t apologise within 48 hours.”
